"Presumed Guilty" stole the spotlight at the 32nd Annual News and Documentary Awards in New York.
The film that highlights corruption within Mexico's justice system, was awarded an Emmy for outstanding investigative journalism.
Director Robert Hernandez is proud to call it the most successful documentary in Mexico's history.
(SOUNDBITE) Roberto Hernandez, director, "Presumed Guilty/Presunto Culpable", saying (Spanish):
"We filmed for two and a half years in Mexico and the result is a movie that puts you in the shoes of a person who has been wrongfully accused of a murder. And we finally helped him to get out of jail thanks to this film and we are really happy that he is here with us tonight."
Lead character Anthony Zuniga credits the film for his freedom.
The ceremony that celebrates excellence in broadcast journalism honored TV and radio personality Larry King for his lifetime achievement.

"I wanted to do that. And I got to be on the radio and then television. And I never thought I would be seen all over the world. I mean, who could imagine that?"
"NBC Nightly News" snagged Best Story for their coverage on Mexico's border violence, while the magazine program "60 Minutes" won two awards for Best Report.
