Five Europeans killed in Ethiopia

Gunmen in Ethiopia killed five European tourists and kidnapped four people on Tuesday.
Two Germans, two Hungarians and an Austrian died in the attack.
Another two Germans were among those kidnapped.
Eleven survivors still wearing their trekking clothes were taken to Addis Ababa from Mekele.
Ethiopian media said the victims were from a group of 27 people, which included other nationalities.
The attack took place in the remote Afar region in northern Ethiopia - where separatist rebels have operated.
Ethiopia blames its neighbour and arch enemy Eritrea for the killing, saying it had trained and armed the gunmen who were responsible.
Afar is one the harshest terrains on earth. Foreigners who venture out here include researchers, aid workers and adventure tourists who visit ancient salt mines and volcanoes.
