The Israeli Military Air Force is making progress in the investigation of Wednesday's plane crash. The f161 jet took off on a routine training flight from Mitzpe Ramon headquarters and crashed in the heart of the dessert at approximately 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 10th. Rescue teams recovered the bodies of Israeli Air Force pilot Maj. Amichai Itkins and Navigator Maj. Emanuel Levy this Thursday November 11th. The Air Force located the black cock pit recorder box hoping it might shed some light on the mysterious tragedy. The box will be sent for further analysis in the United States, though it is still difficult to determine whether the recording can bring sufficient evidence for the investigation. Meanwhile scans are still taking place near and around the crash site in the hope of obtaining further evidence. The pilot and co-pilot failed to report any problems during the flight or at the moments before the crash. Though human error might be an obvious cause of the crash, final determination is withheld until all findings are recovered and closely examined.
