Michele Alliot-Marie, the French foreign minister has received an unwelcome reception in the Palestinian enclave over falsely attributed comments.
Demonstrators mobbed Michele Alliot-Marie's car and at one point it was reportedly pelted with eggs and shoes.
They were reacting to reports that she had said the capture by Hamas of Gilad Shalit, the Israeli soldier who is also a French national, was a war crime.
