ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION
Day 8 of the Olympics is billed as "Super Saturday".
Visitors arrived early on Saturday to take their places in the Olympic park's various venues, ready for a day of sporting action.
First to arrive were hockey fans keen to watch Australia and South Africa's women teams play their pool match.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) VANESSA AND SHAUNA WATSON OF PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA, GOING TO HOCKEY, SAYING:
"It's going to be fantastic.We're really positive and confident. We've had two wins already and a third one coming up right now."
(SOUNDBITE) (English) GERALYN ROBERTS AND LAUREN PARRY FROM DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA SAY:
"Brilliant. We've done really well in the swimming with two golds and a silver so it's been a good Olympics for South Africa so far."
Athletics fans were close behind, eager to take their seats to watch Usain Bolt in the heats for the men's 100m sprint.
