Days after sociologist Ashis Nandy made a controversial statement about SC/ST and OBCs, the controversy refuses to die down. The National SC/ST Commission has demanded Nandy's immediate arrest, but the sociologist has also received support from certain quarters. On Saturday (January 26), Nandy had said, "It is a fact that most of the corrupt come from OBCs and Scheduled Castes and now increasingly the Scheduled Tribes," while participating in a session at the Jaipur Literature Festival.
