Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is meeting with US President Barack Obama at the White House on Thursday.
Erdogan has been calling for more aggressive steps to topple Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime.
But the Washington remains reluctant to take the kind of action that Ankara would like to see, including establishing a no-fly zone in Syria.
