I am not a teen.
Though I may seem to be.
There is much more inside of me.
Inside of this teenage girl body.
I like poetry,
Not vulgar rap.
I know our history,
I'm not a sap.
I'm not insecure,
Any pain,
I'll endure.
I hate text talk,
I like thinking,
And I love long walks.
No Prom for me,
Just astronomy, thanks.
No I'm not fake,
Just for asking, thanks.
I love my parents,
I'm not ashamed to say it.
They raised me right,
And I'm grateful for it.
Swearing is a waste.
It just shows other's poor taste.
They try to grow up in a haste.
Only to fail.
I do not need to socialize,
To me silence is quite a prize.
Though I may seem lonely in your eyes,
I am not.
I don't throw tantrums when distraught,
I meditate.
Sort of mentally medicate.
I've never been high,
Smoking isn't how I plan to die.
Drinking makes me roll my eyes.
I'd like to stay pure in my Father's eyes.
I would like school,
I do not mind the work.
I think learning is cool.
If not for the immature jerks.
I'd like to see the world,
I've got no time to be some boy's 'girl'.
I am a woman.
And I've got future plans,
I'll learn as much as I possibly can.
I may be an introvert but...
I am not a teenager.
