A destructive tornado surge wreaked havoc overnight in Mississippi as the National Weather Service declared several Tornado Emergencies from Bude to Brookhaven. Officials in Franklin County reported that homes have been obliterated and residents are trapped near Garden City, with a large and hazardous tornado moving eastward at 50 mph. The danger now extends into Louisiana, Alabama, and Georgia, affecting over 2.4 million people in the path of EF-2 and stronger tornadoes, along with large hail and winds reaching 70 mph.
