According to Ukraine’s General Staff, Russia has incurred around 1,377,510 troop losses since the onset of the large-scale invasion in February 2022, with 1,190 of those reported in the last day alone. The report further indicates that Russia has lost upwards of 12,000 tanks, close to 25,000 armored vehicles, and more than 43,000 artillery pieces throughout the war. Ukraine has not disclosed its own casualty statistics, although Western experts suggest that Russian losses could be considerably greater. These latest numbers underscore the ongoing human and military costs as the conflict persists without a clear end in view.
