Agricultural authorities in Victoria have increased surveillance after H5N1 bird flu was detected in the state for the first time. A national outbreak could spark an environmental disaster and commercial catastrophe. Brian Ahmed is an egg producer and Egg Group President with the Victorian Farmers Federation.
