छात्र नेता और JLKM नेता देवेंद्र नाथ महतो ने बताया की ...सोनम वांगचुक से बात करने के बाद, मैंने सिर्फ़ पानी पीना शुरू किया है। मैं सिर्फ़ पानी पी रहा हूँ, भूख हड़ताल अभी भी जारी है। आज पाँचवाँ दिन है। झूठी और गुमराह करने वाली खबरें फैलाई जा रही हैं, और यह बहुत गलत है... मैं कोई ठोस खाना नहीं खा रहा हूँ, और यह तब तक जारी रहेगा जब तक हमारी सभी माँगें पूरी नहीं हो जातीं और झारखंड के सभी छात्र संतुष्ट नहीं हो जाते..
Student leader and JLKM leader Devendra Nath Mahto stated, "After speaking with Sonam Wangchuk, I have started consuming only water. I am subsisting solely on water; the hunger strike is still ongoing. Today marks the fifth day. False and misleading reports are being circulated, and this is highly inappropriate... I am not consuming any solid food, and this will continue until all our demands are met and all the students of Jharkhand are satisfied."
