President Donald Trump says U.S. military options against Iran remain fully available as Washington increases economic pressure on Tehran. Speaking to reporters Friday, Trump rejected the idea that the shift toward economic measures means military action is off the table, saying, “No, not at all. It's just means that we're seeing what happens.”
Trump also doubled down on his claim that the United States has control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz and nearby territory, stating, “We have total control of that entire region having to do with the Strait of Hormuz. And that means well into it, the land areas.”
On the possibility of a deal with Iran, Trump said Tehran wants an agreement but has not offered terms acceptable to Washington. “So they would love to make a deal, but they're not ready to make the right deal in my opinion,” he said.
The remarks come as tensions remain high and economic pressure on Iran continues to increase.
