China dispatched hundreds of military personnel and rescuers to the border town of Gyirong in Tibet, after a wall of ice, mud and rock collapsed into a mountain river, triggering a catastrophic flash flood, Chinese state broadcaster CCTV reported on Thursday (Aug 27).
