In this video Shen and Al are Safe Sparring. Light contact was agreed upon. They were trying to make contact, but there was not many actual clean hits, but a few did get in. That is why contact sparring is important. You need to know that if you really did try to hit, can you really hit? And you need to know, if somebody actually tries to hit you, can you really avoid it safely? The sparring session did not get out of control, they both had control of their techniques and emotions. It was a challenge to both of them on their cardio endurance. At FMK, I aim to provide the students with the most realistic fight experience as possible while keeping them safe from serious injuries. It’s a delicate balance that’s required. But with enough training and experience, it can be done.
