After nuclear war erased most of Earth and hunger, Elio, an old man who still remembers coffee, crosses the wasteland to find the last wild plants. He loses the makeshift family he found along the way to betrayal and raiders, brews the first real cup in decades alone, and dies beside it. A stronger coffee plant grows from his body, then aliens erase the dead planet, leaving only the echo of being the last one who remembered taste.
