एअर इंडिया की फुकेट-दिल्ली फ्लाइट AI-2379 में 4 अगस्त को क्रूज़ के दौरान विमान करीब 300 फीट नीचे गिर गया, जिससे 17 यात्री और क्रू सदस्य घायल हुए। हादसे के बाद दोनों पायलटों का डोप टेस्ट कराया गया। रिपोर्टों के अनुसार, पायलट-इन-कमांड का कन्फर्मेटरी टेस्ट गांजा यानी मारिजुआना के लिए पॉजिटिव आया है, जबकि को-पायलट का टेस्ट नेगेटिव बताया गया है। जांच एजेंसियां अब यह पता लगाने में जुटी हैं कि घटना के दौरान कॉकपिट में वास्तव में क्या हुआ था। AAIB के साथ फ्रांस की BEA और एयरबस की तकनीकी टीमें भी जांच में शामिल हैं। DGCA ने दोनों पायलटों को जांच पूरी होने तक ड्यूटी से हटा दिया है। इस घटना ने विमान सुरक्षा और पायलटों की ड्रग टेस्टिंग व्यवस्था पर गंभीर सवाल खड़े कर दिए हैं। अब जांच रिपोर्ट का इंतजार है, जिससे हादसे की पूरी सच्चाई सामने आ सके।
